Bluegrass Music Camp

5th Annual Grand Targhee Bluegrass Camp

August 10-13, 2010 • www.targheebluegrasscamp.com

Imagine an afternoon in the Tetons, a head full of new tunes, rubbing elbows with your musical heros, a community of new friends, outstanding views, great food, free time to jam, rehearse or hike. Sounds like the prescription for sanity in this crazy world. Sounds like the syllabus for the 5th Annual Targhee Bluegrass Camp!

• 3.5 days of high level instruction • Hearty meals and comfortable accommodations • Lots of jamming • Evening performances • World class setting • Top notch instructors

Using bluegrass music as the common language, the camp focus is on teaching individual instrumental skills, group playing, singing and jamming. Each day features morning and afternoon classes on your chosen instrument, elective workshops, jam sessions (both structured and unstructured) and evening performances – all adding up to jam-packed and inspiring days.

The classes are generally geared towards intermediate players, so some degree of proficiency is expected. Please contact Ben Winship by email (bluegrasscamp@benwinship.com) if you have questions about your ability level. Students of all ages are welcome, however students 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

This event precedes the Grand Targhee Bluegrass Festival. Located at the resort, the setting is ideal for getting away from the real world and spending time in the mountains picking and singing.

In addition, students have opportunities to take advantage of the wide range of outdoor activities that Grand Targhee has to offer: hiking, biking, swimming, chair lift rides and more. Grand Targhee is situated at 8,000 feet in the heart of the Tetons - an inspiring setting with spectacular views.
