Free Naturalist Hikes Programs

Nature At Noon

Registration is required at the Activity Center for daily Nature At Noon hikes. Join us at the Summit Nature Center at the top of the Dreamcatcher scenic chairlift for our Nature at Noon free naturalist led discussion and short hike on the Teton View Nature trail. Learn how oceans, volcanoes and glaciers sculpted the surrounding landscape, and how the creatures and flora adapt to living in the alpine environment. These guided hikes are approximately one hour in length and offer an easy to moderate journey of discovery exploring the wildflowers, wildlife, and geology of the Tetons.

Self Discovery Nature Trails

Teton View Nature Trail

This Teton View Nature Trail begins on the observation deck just a short walk north from the summit of the Dreamcatcher scenic chairlift. After reading the educational panels on the observation deck, follow a rocky path south along Fred’s Mountain summit ridge as it meanders through alpine plants and world class views of the Grand Tetons. The trail ends at the Summit Nature Center.

Teewinot Nature Trail

The Teewinot Nature Trail is a short self-guided interpretive trail that meanders through aspen groves, old growth Douglas Fir trees, and wildflower meadows. This self-guided interpretive trail begins near the Teewinot lodge and guides you to discover local ecology with fifteen points of interest. You will discover where red squirrels eat their meals as you walk among rocks that were transported by glaciers to that very trail.
