Group Lessons
- Sign-up for one of our four 2 week sessions.
- Each session is scheduled for 2 weeks (8 half hour lessons per session)
- Each session is $75 for Summer Pool Members and $100 for non-members
- Session 1: June 24-27 & July 8-11
- Session 2: July 15-18 & July 22-25
- Session 3: July 29-Aug 1 & Aug 5-8
- Session 4: Aug 12-15 & Aug 19-22
Lessons are Monday - Thursday (30min).

Level 1 - Guppies (min 2 students & max 4)
Introduction to Water Skills, with assistance, parental participation is required.
Learned Skills Include: Water entry and exit using ladder, steps, or side, breath control and submerging, front and back floats, changing directions, treading water, swim on front and back combining arms and legs action and water safety.
Level 2 - Dolphins (min 2 students & max 6)
Fundamental Aquatic Skills, Independent Instruction
Learned Skills Include: Water entry and exit using ladder, steps, or side, breath control and submerging, front and back floats, changing directions, treading water, swim on front and back combining arms and legs action and water safety.
Level 3 - Sharks (min 2 students & max 8)
Stroke Development, Independent Instruction
Learned Skills Include: Survival float, back float, treading water, front crawl, elementary back stroke, and side-stroke and water safety.
Level 4 - Orcas (min 2 students & max 10)
Stroke Development – Independent Instruction
Develop confidence in strokes learned thus far and to improve other aquatic skill. Introduce
breaststroke, sidestroke, and wall turns. As well as deep water bobbing, buoyancy and floating position, rotary breathing, sculling on back, and front and back crawl.
Private Lessons
Available Monday - Thursday 12:00pm to 3:00pm
Half hour and 45 minute sessions available
Swim Instructor Bios:
Crista Pentz: Crista was born in Pennsylvania. After attending Arizona State she graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Early childhood. She has remained out west and has worked in the teaching field for over 25 years ranging from teaching swimming, children’s music, fitness classes, pre-school, and currently ski instructing children ages 3-12 at Grand Targhee. Her free time is spent with her two children ages 6 and 7 and husband where they spend most of their time enjoying all of the wonderful benefits that the Teton Mountain range has to offer.
Michelle F. Nicholson: Michelle was born and raised in Jackson Hole Wyoming. She attended the University of Wyoming earning a Bachelors Degree in Communications followed by attending the University of Phoenix where she earned her Masters in Elementary Education. Now working at Rendezvous Upper Elementary School in Driggs Idaho, and living in Alta Wyoming she is actively involved with student adaptive skiing, swimming, and other community driven student education. Michelle spends her free time with friends up at Grand Targhee, back country skiing, mountain biking , and spending time outside enjoying the beautiful Teton Mountain Range.
Tracey-Mae Gonsalves: Tracey-Mae was born and raised in the Teton Mountains, making her a true valley local. She attended Boise State University where she earned a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology and graduated with a K-12 Physical Education certificate as well as minored in Health Education with endorsements in computer and coaching. Tracey-Mae’s love for the snow brought her back home after college. Her free time is best spent at Targhee where she enjoys skiing big powder with her friends and family. She also has a passion for water and spends her summers submerged be it teaching swim lessons, lifeguarding, floating the river or wakeboarding on the lake. Tracey-Mae is now the physical Education teacher at Driggs and Tetonia Elementary schools. In the summer months, she has been teaching swimming lessons and life guarding since 2006.
Restrictions
- Capacity limit of 21 people in the pool at one time and 9 in the hot tub.
- The pool deck area capacity limit of 43 people.
- The pool is unavailable during our 10 music festival days.
- Children 16 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or adult (19+)
- There will be no alcohol allowed in the pool area. Other drinks and food are allowed.
- Towels will not be supplied for pool season pass guests.
- Season passholder will need to check in at the Activities Center to receive a wrist band for admittance.
