Fly Fishing
Grand Targhee Resort is uniquely situated in the heart of some of the world’s best dry (and wet) fly fishing waters with such world-renown fishing streams as the Teton River (30 minute drive), Southfork of the Snake River (40 minute drive), and Henry’s Fork of the Snake River with its diverse water types and trophy browns, rainbows and Yellowstone Cutthroat trout. Nearby Henry’s Lake is a prime location to try your hand at catching natural and fisheries stocked trout. This year, Idaho Fish & Game have placed no limit on the number of rainbows you can harvest from Idaho’s streams. Please note that you should never harvest cutthroat. Day trips in Eastern Idaho and in the nearby Jackson Hole area on the meandering Snake River are the ultimate experience for today’s adventure angler. Rate: $475. Jackson Hole
TOWN OF JACKSON: Where the Wild West lives on! Enjoy a night of swing dancing after dining in a 4-star restaurant or a chuck wagon dinner complete with cowboy poetry. There’s plenty of family recreation including whitewater rafting, scenic floats or canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, rodeos, fishing and golf. Or take an easy trek through town to visit the numerous art galleries and shops filled with hand-crafted jewelry and be sure to stop in the National Museum of Wildlife Art across the street from the National Elk Refuge. From Grand Targhee it’s an easy 45 minute drive to Jackson.

Rafting
Water enthusiasts can enjoy both White water and Scenic Float Trips in Jackson Hole.
The Snake River provides exciting White water rafting featuring rapids such as Lunch Counter and Big Kahuna.
Scenic float trips are also available on the Snake River through majestic Teton National Park. Rate: $55 per person.

Hot Air Balloons
Take to the skies in a hot air balloon and bask in the majesty of the Grand Tetons from thousands of feet in the air. This is an experience the entire family will enjoy. Sail aboard a nine-story balloon as gentle breezes carry you over the spectacular Teton landscape sweeping just over tree tops or rising high above the valley floor for picturesque views of the mountain ranges and forested wilderness. Experience the majesty of flight onboard a hot air balloon and view the world in a unique, adventurous style.
If you prefer, fly over the largest remaining private open space in a working ranch bordered by Grand Teton National Park, the Bridger-Teton National Forest, and the Snake River. The Teton Mountain Range rises five thousand feet right from the launch site, without foothills. Golf
Because Grand Targhee Resort straddles the border of both Idaho and Wyoming, we are right in the heart of some of the best, championship golf courses in both states.
The Targhee Village golf course is a mere 5 miles from Grand Targhee Resort. This course features 9 holes with exceptional Teton Valley views. Contact them directly at (208) 354-8577.
Idaho’s Teton Valley has become one of the most desirable golf retreats in the past few years with new, premium championship golf courses coming online frequently. Case in point: Teton Reserve Golf Club, the newest entrant and the country’s first 18 hole championship “reversible routing” golf course designed by PGA Champions Tour all-time win leader, Hale Irwin. Teton Reserve is scheduled to open this summer in mid-August, 2006. The course is semi-private so be sure to call the pro shop for tee times at (208) 787-4227.
The Links 18 hole golf course is only 14 miles from the resort, and is designed in the Scottish tradition. Consider The Links for an fantastic morning or afternoon round and take in the incredible views of the Tetons as you line up that birdie putt. Contact them directly for tee times at (208) 456-2374.
Golfers can also enjoy two world-class championship level golf courses over the pass in Jackson Hole. Both courses offer challenges as well as a scenic backdrop unsurpassed anywhere in North America. Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis Club is semi-private and a magnificent example of a Robert Trent Jones, Jr. signature golf course built in 1961 with a championship yardage measurement of 7,168 yards. Glider Rides
For an exhilarating experience, reach out and almost touch the Grand Teton from the comfort of your serene Teton Aviation sail plane as you glide effortlessly around the peaks and valleys of the Targhee-Caribou National Forest and Grand Teton National Park. Flights leave right from the conveniently located Driggs Airport, only 23 minutes drive from Grand Targhee. While at the Driggs Airport, enjoy lunch or dinner at the Warbird’s Café, a local favorite, and don’t miss a brief walkthrough of the aircraft museum.
