Thanks to the arrival of abundant early season snow, over 6 feet since
early October, Grand Targhee Resort is pleased to announce an early
opening on Saturday, November 20, 2010.
The Shoshone
beginner chairlift and the Dreamcatcher quad will be open to the public
starting at 9 am on Saturday. A limited amount of groomed terrain will
be offered, including the Nordic track. All terrain on Fred’s Mountain
will be open to the public and guests are advised to use good judgment
when accessing open terrain this weekend.
“Early
season conditions do exist and the public should use caution while
skiing and riding,” said Joe Calder ski patrol director. “We will be
doing significant avalanche hazard reduction work all over the mountain
on Friday and the mountain will be closed for public uphill access on
that day.
The following lift ticket pricing will be in effect until additional lifts and terrain are open:
Full Day Half day (after 12:30PM)

Child (5 and under) Free Free
Overnight guests are invited to visit as early as Friday evening, rooms will be
available in the Teewinot Lodge. Teton Mountain Outfitters, Fred’s
Board Shop and rental equipment will be available starting Saturday. Starting
Saturday Snorkels will be open from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm daily, and the
Trap Bar will serve lunch, dinner and to go options from 11 am through
8:30 pm daily. Wild Bills will open for seating on the weekends, during
the weekdays guests are invited to use the upstairs conference rooms.
On Thanksgiving, the Trap will close at 5:00 pm, Wild Bills will open
from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and the Branding Iron will serve a Turkey Day
Special, including soup or salad, a turkey or prime rib dinner and
seasonal desserts from 3:00 to 8:30 pm.
Ski and Snowboard
School will open on Saturday for the season, and will offer private and
group lessons for children and adults. The race venue and Early Tracks
program will be available at a later date. The Kids Club will also open
for the season on Saturday, and operate from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm through
the weekend. Monday through Thursday of next week the Kids Club will
operate by appointment only, call 208-705-7848 to schedule. Starting
Friday, November 26 the Kids Club will be open daily from 8:30 to 4:30
pm.
The Papoose Conveyor is scheduled to open on Thanksgiving Day, and the remainder of the resort is currently scheduled to open on Friday, November 26.
