The Mary’s Nipple Challenge is back at Grand Targhee on March 2!
Prizes, raffle and prayer flags add additional fundraising opportunities to event

(Alta, WY – February 14, 2013)    The Mary’s Nipple Challenge, supporting St. John’s Medical Center Oncology Fund is Saturday March 2, 2013 from 12-3pm at Grand Targhee Resort. Participants will complete laps off of the Dreamcatcher lift with an optional hike to the top of Mary’s Nipple. The event kicks off at noon and participants have three hours to complete as many laps as possible. For those interested in participating in a less rigorous activity, there will be a 2km snowshoe lap, located near the base area on the Hamster loop. Prizes will be awarded immediately following the event.

Largest Donations Raised - 2013/2014 season ski pass

Most Laps Completed - 2013 Bluegrass Festival weekend pass

Best Costume - 2013 Targhee Fest weekend pass

Supporters can also purchase Prayer flags and turn Mary’s Pink! Leave a message for a loved one and help raise money for those who will need help at a difficult time. A message flag will be a $25 donation to put a message on one prayer flag or $50 for 3 flags. The prayer flags will be raised up on the top of Mary’s for their messages to be carried on by the wind. A photo will be taken of all the prayer flags and sent all people who buy a flag.


The Mary’s Challenge Raffle is new this year and off to a great start! Prizes include Gift Certificates to local shops; Habitat, Apparels of Pauline, Skinny Skis, Yostmark, and Broulims; dinner for four at the Linn Canyon Ranch with a value of $320, Shearling fashions from Rita’s Designs with a value of $523; gifts from Heron Glass, MD Nursery, Guchiebirds, YES Jewelery, Alpine Wines, local artisans, local massage/bodywork professionals and more donations are being made every day.


Raffle tickets are being sold at the Grand Targhee activities center, St. Johns Medical Center and local businesses for $5 each or five tickets for $20; participants do not have to be present to win Raffle prizes.


All funds raised will be donated to the St. John’s Medical Center Oncology Fund and earmarked for breast cancer patients. The Oncology Fund offers financial assistance to cancer patients, helping cover costs of prostheses, travel costs associated with radiation treatments and house cleaning services for patients going through treatment.
