The Targhee Institute

Targhee Institute is a non-profit organization created to increase educational and cultural opportunities in the Greater Yellowstone Area. The Institute offers programs for all ages in the arts and natural sciences. We promote the philosophy of "Discovery Through Doing" and the appreciation and preservation of the natural world.

The Institute is based at the award-winning Grand Targhee Resort. Students are immersed in the beauty of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Wildflower meadows, spruce and aspen forests, hummingbirds, moose, coyotes, and eagles all contribute to one of America's least spoiled natural settings. Participants can take advantage of abundant recreation opportunities ranging from swimming to soaring and river rafting.

The Institute pioneered the now popular Summer Explorers program. The philosophy of "Discovery Through Doing" is ever present and your children will enjoy learning while creating memories to last a lifetime.

The annual Bluegrass Festival and Targhee Fest assist the Institute in fund raising for the various programs and future development. The Institute also provides activities and programs for the younger festival participants.
