About The Targhee Adaptive Program:
The Grand Targhee Resort adaptive program is designed to create ski and snowboarding opportunities for individuals with a disability or in need of special assistance. We utilize special equipment and teaching techniques to make every experience fun, successful and safe. We guarantee a one-to-one student teacher ratio for all adaptive lessons. We build each lesson around the unique goals and needs of the student. To facilitate this, we begin each lesson with a student assessment and indoor equipment set-up. This takes approximately thirty minutes and is a necessary step toward success on the snow. We recognize the important role adaptive sports can play in bringing families together, and are more than happy to work with families to make this a ski together experience.
Director Gil Hundley
Grand Targhee uniquely combines one of the most beautiful mountain environments in the Rocky Mountains with a friendly, small family resort area atmosphere. In my mind, this is what makes our resort special and the ideal place for an adaptive sports program. It is our programs’ mission to provide a quality, safe experience tailored to each individual’s specific needs and goals while also sharing our love of the mountains, our resort and all it has to offer.
