Group Lessons

The Targhee Group Lesson concept is designed to focus on skier and snowboarders desired outcomes. You may want to learn to ski or ride powder off-trail, be more efficient on shaped skis, link carved turns on the groomers, learn to Telemark, or need help with the bumps. Group Workshops are 2 hours long.

Private Lessons

Many of our guests prefer the one-on-one attention and focus they receive in private lessons for skiers and snowboarders. This offers the flexibility of going when you want, for as long as you want, or bring along a friend and learn together in a "semi-private" lesson. You can also request your favorite instructor (private lessons subject to availability).

'Start Me Up' Beginner Package

Targhee's best deal for learning to ski and snowboard. The Beginner Package includes 1 group lesson, a Shoshone lift ticket & full day rental package. Lessons are two hours long.

Visit the Ski & Snowboard School first to register and receive your rental voucher; you will then proceed to the Rental Shop. Please register for your lessons one hour prior to allow time to visit the rental shop.

'Tune It Up' Intermediate Package

This is another great deal for taking your skiing or snowboarding to the next level. The 'Tune It Up' Package includes 1 group lesson and an all mountain lift ticket. Lessons are two hours long.

'Powder Up' Intermediate Package

Enjoy learning to ski Grand Targhee Resort's world famous, ultra dry powder. We'll assist you with a gradual curve as you learn to ski deeper and deeper snow. Become a well rounded skier by taking your skiing to the next level. The 'Powder Up' Package includes 1 group lesson. Lessons are two and a half hours long.

Early Tracks

Join our mountain guides for a head-start on Targhee's famous powder prior to the lifts opening to the public. Let our guides show you the best Targhee has to offer and have the mountain to yourself. Youth Equipment Lease Programs

Powder Scouts group lessons are for skiers and snowboarders ages 6-14 and juniors of all abilities.  This juniors-only lesson is grouped according to age and ability to ensure the most fun and effective learning environment for all.  You'll have a great time at the Kids Fun Zone to Grand Targhee Resorts more difficult terrain, juniors will get to experience as much as their abilities permit alongside Targhee’s awesome instructors.  Powder Scouts will surely leave your kids smiling and more confident on their boards by the end of a day!

Kids Equipment Lease Programs

Mini Moose is our pre-school age group lesson program designed for the most playful learning experience out there. Available for Kids in preschool (2 yrs if toilet trained - 5 yrs). Your child will build skills exploring the Kids Fun Zone with their instructors. Examples of what they will learn include building balance in the famed Alley Oop Alley, turning skills while avoiding eye balls in the Eye Ball Forest and quick reaction time on runs through the Candy Cane Forest.

Telemark & Nordic (skate & XC) Ski Lessons

We offer all Nordic disciplines with our experienced, friendly staff: telemark, classic and skate skiing. Targhee is the place to develop your Nordic skills - soft snow, fewer crowds and great instruction with access to perhaps the most beautiful Nordic track system in the world. 

Group Nordic Lessons

Our lesson concept is designed to focus on your desired outcomes. Whether you are interested in telemark, classic or skate skiing...or you may be discovering Nordic skiing for the first time...our Workshops are for you! Group Workshops are 2 hours long.

Nordic Release Form

Adaptive Ski & Snowboard Program

Grand Targhee Adaptive offers lessons for people of all ages and all abilities including visually impaired, mono and bi ski, 3 track and 4 track, and sessions for children and adults with developmental disabilities. First 1/2 day lesson free for new skiers, courtesy of Teton Adaptive Sports. Contact Ski School for more information.

Adaptive lessons include a qualified instructor, lift ticket and all adaptive equipment (including skis, boots, and helmet). Reservations are strongly recommended.

Grand Targhee's Adaptive Program Director Tara Sanders, continues the tradition offering a first rate adaptive program to our guests. We uniquely combine one of the most beautiful gladed mountain environments in the Rocky Mountains with a friendly, family resort. It is our programs’ mission to provide a quality, safe experience tailored to each individual’s specific needs and goals while also sharing our love of the mountains.

The Grand Targhee Resort adaptive program is designed to create ski and snowboarding opportunities for individuals with a disability or in need of special assistance. We utilize special equipment and teaching techniques to make every experience fun, successful and safe. We guarantee a one-to-one student teacher ratio for all adaptive lessons. We build each lesson around the unique goals and needs of the student. To facilitate this, we begin each lesson with a student assessment and indoor equipment set-up. This takes approximately thirty minutes and is a necessary step toward success on the snow. We recognize the important role adaptive sports can play in bringing families together, and are more than happy to work with families to make this a ski together experience.

Saturday Ski/Snowboard/Nordic Clinics

Ladies-Only 2-For-1 Clinic, bring a friend every Saturday for professional instruction and fun on the slopes. Price is for two people and does not include lift pass.
