Grand Targhee Resort

SnowCat Adventures

One of the hallmarks of the Grand Targhee experience is a SnowCat Adventure on Peaked Mountain.  For you and just eleven other skiers/riders, a huge powder reserve of 1,000 acres awaits and up to 20,000 vertical feet in a day.  Come follow our expert guides through expansive north-facing bowls, mellow, gladed cruisers and steep treed pitches, with breathtaking views of the Tetons all around – one of the greatest thrills in North America and best cat skiing in Wyoming. Check out the video.

Adventures on Peaked Mountain just got better:
TEN NEW TRAILS off the top of Peaked Mountain accessible only via the snowcat program.

Average run - 2,000 vertical feet
Longest run - 2,200 vertical feet
Daily vertical - 14,000 to 20,000 vertical feet
Average number of runs per day - 10 to 12 runs
Two SnowCats operate daily (conditions permitting) with twelve people each

We ask that all riders are of at least an intermediate level, able to link turns in all conditions and should be comfortable riding in trees and able to avoid natural obstacles.
