Guided SnowCat Adventures
One of the hallmarks of the Grand Targhee experience is a SnowCat Adventure on Peaked Mountain complete with breathtaking views of the Grand Teton. For you and just eleven other skiers/riders, a huge powder reserve of over 600 acres awaits and up to 20,000 vertical feet in a day. Come follow our expert guides through expansive bowls, mellow, gladed cruisers and steep treed pitches, with breathtaking views of the Tetons all around – one of the greatest thrills in North America and best cat skiing in Wyoming. Average run - 2,000 vertical feet
Longest run - 2,200 vertical feet
Daily vertical - 14,000 to 20,000 vertical feet
Average number of runs per day - 10 to 12 runs
Two SnowCats operate daily (conditions permitting) with twelve people each
We ask that all riders are of at least an intermediate level, able to link turns in all conditions and should be comfortable riding in trees and able to avoid natural obstacles.
SnowCat Adventure Rates
Full Day (9:00 AM - 4:00 PM): 2010-11 $TBD (includes hot beverages, snacks & lunch).
Half Day (1:00 PM - 4:00 PM): 2010-11 $TBD (includes snack, beverages)
Advanced reservations for cat skiing are required, please call the Activity Center at ext. 1355. Check-in begins at 8:00 AM with base departure at 9:00 AM Full Day or 1:00 PM for Half Day.
Full payment is required to guarantee all reservations. Our Super Snow Guarantee applies to SnowCat Adventures too; if you are not satisfied with conditions for any reason after your first run, you may request a snow check good for another day during the same calendar year a $50 fee will be taken from the credit. Snow check has no cash value and is not transferable.
Grand Targhee reserves the right to cancel trips at which time a full refund will be given to guests. Cancellations made by guests 14 days or more before the trip will be 100% refunded. Cancellations made less than 14 days before the trip will be refunded the full amount, less a $50/seat cancellation fee. Cancellations made 7 days or less will be charged 50% of the trip price. Cancellations or "no shows" the day of the trip will be charged full price of the trip.
Cat Club Card
New: The SnowCat Adventures "Cat Club Card" is designed for frequent SnowCat riders. The card is good for 5 full-day SnowCat Adventures at a savings of roughly $100.00 per trip off the regular rate when purchase on or before 12/31/10. If you have any questions, please contact the Activity Center directly at 1.800.827.4433 x1355. Price increases on January 1, 2011. Card can be used any time during the regular season. Advance reservations required. Reservations for "Cat Club Card" holders only accepted after 4:00 p.m. the day prior to the trip. The "Cat Club Card" is non-transferable and works similar to a season pass, complete with photograph. You can purchase additional cards throughout the season. Our new quiver of powder boards goes deep into pow tech territory, including the latest skis from K2, Volkl, Line, Icelantic and Armada. Our stash of snowboards includes the latest floatation devices from Burton, Arbor, LibTech and Never Summer.
