Hiking Experiences

If you’d love to tour through the many miles of trails we have here in the Tetons, join our skilled and knowledgeable guides for an immersive hiking experience. 

Our guides are educated in wildlife awareness and carry bear spray so that you can focus on appreciating all the surrounding beauty. Whether you’re looking to summit peaks, learn a little about the local flora and fauna, or take in the views with a picnic, we’ve got you covered. And if you’re interested in riding a chairlift, we’ve got tours that include a Scenic Chairlift ride as well.

There really is no better way to get to meet the Tetons than with educated, professional guides that know these areas better than just about anyone else. 

Teton Experience

Duration: Up to 3-Hour Guided Hike
Start time: 10:00am
Ability level: Intermediate – Some experience hiking on rocky terrain and steep elevation is recommended.
Miles: Approx. 4
Elevation gain: Approx. 2000ft

Learn about the local flora and fauna and the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem with a Grand Targhee Guide along the 3.2-mile Bannock Trail. Enjoy the rewarding and unique views of the Teton Range from the summit trails. After the hike up, you’ll enjoy the views of the valley as you ride our scenic chair lift down.

Add a Picnic

We will have your lunch awaiting you at the top of the mountain. Enjoy a delicious picnic with the best Teton Range views. 48-hour advance booking required. (See Menu Options tab)

Teton Grand Experience

Duration: Up to 3-Hour Guided Hike.
Includes Scenic Chair Ride Lift Ticket*
Start time: 2:00pm
Ability level: Intermediate – Experience hiking on rocky terrain is required.
Miles: Approx. 3
Elevation gain: Approx. 600ft

Enjoy a scenic lift ride up the mountain to start the tour. After exploring the summit trails with unique views of the Teton Range, we will hike along the Teton Vista Traverse to Mary’s Saddle for more stunning views of the Grand Teton. Learn about the local flora and fauna and the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem with a Grand Targhee Guide along the way.

Celebrate the outdoors with the best views of the Tetons! We will bring drinks and nibbles for you. 48-hour advance booking required. (See Menu Options below.)

Teton Mini Experience

Duration: Up to 2-Hour Guided Hike.
Add a Scenic Chair Lift Ticket for $15 for Adults & $10 for Juniors

Elevation descent: Approx. 2000ft

Meet your guide after visiting the summit trails for a guided hike down Bannock Trail. Learn about the local flora and fauna and the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.

Customized Experiences

We can tailor our hikes to your interests and ability level. Minimum 2 guests. Price per person for up to 3 hours. Additional hours are available with a $20 surcharge. Scenic Ride Lift ticket not included. 48-hour advance booking required.

HOW TO BOOK

We are very excited that you will be exploring the Tetons with us. Before you start the booking process, online or through our reservations team at 307-353-2300 ext1, please gather the following information for each hiker:

  • Preferred date & time: Hikes are only available at 10:00am and 2:00pm
  • Guests’ names
  • Date of birth
  • Sign our Summer Activity Waiver.

Please email this information ahead of time to reservations@grandtarghee.com to expedite your booking process through the call center.

CHECK-IN 

Check-in at Grand Targhee Activity Center 30 minutes before your hike and collect your voucher. Please sign our summer activity waiver ahead of time to expedite the check-in process. Hikers will meet their guide between the Plaza and the Dreamcatcher lift.

(Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to sign a release form if it has not already been completed online.)

CANCELLATION POLICY

All bookings must be paid in full at the time of booking. Cancellations must be made 72 hours in advance and will be charged a processing fee of $25 per guest or party. Same-day cancellations or no-shows will forfeit the total cost of the booking. If your hike is cancelled due to weather or trail conditions, and you are not able to reschedule your booking, a full refund will apply.
