Where do we meet?
Check-in is at 8:00AM at the warming tent in the plaza area, 8:45AM departure.
How many runs do we get during a day?
8-11 runs, depending on the terrain skied throughout the day.
What is the vertical feet?
2,200 vertical feet and the longest run is 1 ¼ mile. Runs vary in pitch and variety with trees, glades and open bowls.
What is the average vertical feet in a day?
There is no average day; you’ll ski or ride up to 18,000 vertical feet in a day.
What level of a skier or rider to I need to be?
Grand Targhee Resort Cat Skiing adventurers are required to be confident, intermediate to advanced level skiers/snowboarders in good physical condition with off-piste experience. All guests should be aware that slopes are not groomed. Please be acclimated as the runs range between 8,000′ and 10,000′.
Do you book private snowcats?
Yes, for you and 9 of your friends.
Where do I rent or purchase powder skis or snowboards?
At Grand Targhee Resort there are 3 different locations for powder tools: In Downtown Driggs, Habitat has a complete line of demo skis and boards for shredding POW! On mountain Teton Mountain Outfitters is where you’ll find a wide selection of demo skis for all conditions. The Board Shop carries a great line of this years snowboards.
Do I need to bring food or water?
We provide water, coffee, cocoa, housemade soups, snacks and sandwiches!
What’s the cancellation policy?

Due to rapidly changing mountain weather, we are often evaluating terrain and snow conditions leading up to the final hours before your trip. We make every effort to get you out on your scheduled day so long as conditions are safe.
If Grand Targhee Resort cancels your trip due to snow conditions or safety concerns, you will be refunded, or you may reschedule for another date before the end of the season at no penalty.
If you choose to cancel your trip, you must cancel outside 72 hours of trip date for rescheduling or refund eligibility. All refunds will be charged a $50/seat cancellation fee prior to refund. Cancellations made within 72 hours of trip date are a full forfeit of trip cost*
*Please keep in mind, we reserved your seat for you, and in doing so prevented other individuals and groups from booking
*You may transfer your seat to another individual if done at least 48 hours in advance; please inform GTR of the change
- Please be aware, there are no refunds for lodging if your cat is cancelled. The Resort is open for skiing and riding 7 days a week during the winter season. If you cancel your lodging reservation, you will be subject to Grand Targhee Resort’s Lodging Cancellation Policy.
Lodging cancellation policy: We require a deposit at booking of one night’s stay plus tax. Payment in full is due 30 days prior to arrival. If you cancel outside of 30 days, we refund the initial lodging advance deposit less a $25.00 cancellation fee. We do process FULL payment 30 days prior to arrival. If you cancel within 30 days and before 14 days, we refund the full amount less the initial advance deposit. In the unlikely event you need to cancel within 14 days you forfeit the entire amount.
