Grand Targhee Resort Kicks Off the 2016/17 Season

(Alta, WY – Monday, November 28, 2016) Grand Targhee Resort will open for the 2016/17 season on Thursday, December 1, 2016. With Mother Nature back on track and delivering over 39” of snow in the last 7 days, the resort is ready for a busy opening day. Grand Targhee will open with top to bottom skiing and riding off Dreamcatcher, Shoshone and Papoose.


The Grand Targhee Resort Shuttle with several stops in Driggs, will begin running Thursday, December 1, 2016. Punch passes and shuttle season passes are now on sale and available at the resort’s Activity Center.


Great live music can always be found at the Trap Bar & Grill and on December 2 you can catch Chadwick & Conrad. This season, the Trap Bar is filled with great music almost every Friday and Saturday.


With a new season, brings new changes and additions to Grand Targhee Resort. Construction on the new Blackfoot Quad lift began last spring and now it’s time to celebrate. Dedication of the new Blackfoot lift is scheduled for December 17, 2016. The resort has also purchased an additional grooming machine, expanded parking, built new terrain park features, renovated the Rendezvous restrooms, and added an additional 2.5 miles to the fat bike singletrack.


Opening day traditions for Grand Targhee guests include lining up at the base of Dreamcatcher in the early morning hours. Some even come prepared to cook breakfast while waiting in line. Share your photos of opening day #GTROpening1617.
