Barker Ewing Scenic Float Trips
10-Mile Float Trips
Experience Grand Teton National Park while floating down the Snake River during a one-of-a-kind scenic adventure. Barker-Ewing’s 10-Mile Float Trips run from historic Dead Man’s Bar, located just below the Snake River Overlook, to Moose Village. These raft trips, floated entirely within Grand Teton National Park, cover the most scenic stretch of the Snake River within the entire Jackson Hole Valley. With an average round trip time of 2.5 – 3 hours, these trips are an ideal length, long enough for a full river adventure yet short enough to allow consideration of other Jackson Hole activities the same day.
Dick Barker knew the Snake River. He fished these clear waters as a teenager, then offered his knowledge as a float-and-fish guide. Since he and his wife Barbara established their company in 1963, and having partnered with Frank and Patty Ewing from 1967-1984, Dick and his professional crew have provided tens of thousands of park visitors uncompromised safety and unparalleled opportunity to view the Teton Range from this most intimate perspective.
Although Dick passed on in 2012, his family continues to run Barker-Ewing following the highest of standards that Dick originally set. In fact, Barker-Ewing Float Trips is one of only a handful of float companies allowed to operate Snake River float trips in Grand Teton National Park. Their meticulous records of wildlife observations over the decades reveal an uncommon dedication to preservation of this pristine and natural world.
