Snowshoe Rentals

Discover a winter wonderland at Grand Targhee Resort by renting a pair of snowshoes and hitting the trail. Explore Greenhorn and Jolly Green Giants, two dedicated snowshoe trails that traverse the woods northwest of the Hamster Loop. Snowshoers can use both the Nordic and singletrack trails, perfect for the whole family or a longer afternoon adventure.

  • Snowshoe rentals are picked up at the Nature Center. 
  • Rental quantities are limited.  
  • Winter trail passes are required for trail access. 
  • Dogs are not permitted on our winter trail system.

Midweek Snowshoe Rental Pick-up: The Nature Center may be closed from 10:30am – 12:30pm M-F when Resort Naturalist guiding snowshoe tour or doing trail patrol.

GUIDED SNOWSHOE TOURS

Grand Targhee Resort offers guided nature-focused snowshoe tours where guests learn about the forest, winter ecology, snow tracking, bird calls, and the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. The snowshoe tours last two hours and are led by one of the Resort Naturalists. Tours are great for ages 10 years and older and most ability levels.

Advanced reservations are required. Please call 800.TARGHEE (827.4433) ext.1355; meet at the Nature Center 10 minutes prior to your tour.

***Snowshoe tours can be cancelled or additional tours may be added during the week, and rentals limited when school groups are scheduled for field trips. Be sure to call ahead to ensure there is availability for the day you plan to go snowshoeing!
