Introducing Powder Queens, Tele Tribe, and Legends. Each program offers four focused sessions led by expert instructors, a 5:1 guest-to-instructor ratio, and a supportive community of like-minded skiers. You’ll build skills, boost confidence, and make lasting connections while exploring Targhee’s legendary terrain. 

POWDER QUEENS 

Designed for women, by women. Powder Queens brings together a crew of like-minded skiers and riders for four, 3-hour sessions packed with fun, fundamentals, and friendships. Led by our Mountain Sports School’s top female instructors, this camp is all about building skills, boosting confidence, and sharing stoke on the slopes. 

  • ABILITY LEVELS: Beginner to Advanced
  • FORMAT: Four sessions, 3 hours each
  • DATES:
    • Session 1: Friday afternoons 1:00 - 4:00pm, 11/28, 12/5, 12/12 & 12/19
    • Session 2: Tuesday mornings 9:00 - 12:00pm, 1/6, 1/13, 1/20 & 1/27
  • RATIO: Just 5 guests per instructor for maximum attention

TELE TRIBE 

For those who find freedom in every turn, the Telemark Series is for you. Led by Grand Targhee’s Mountain Sports School telemark instructors, this camp is designed for skiers of all abilities who want to refine their skills and explore everything Targhee’s legendary terrain has to offer. 

  • ABILITY LEVELS: Beginner to Advanced
  • FORMAT: Four sessions, 3 hours each

    • Session 1: Wednesday afternoons 1:00 - 4:00pm, 11/26, 12/3, 12/10 & 12/17
    • Session 2: Tuesday afternoons 1:00 - 4:00pm, 1/6, 1/13, 1/20 & 1/27
  • RATIO: 5 guests per instructor for focused coaching
  • COST: $599

Whether you’re linking your first tele turns or charging steeps, this camp builds confidence, technique, and a deeper love for freeheel skiing.

LEGENDS – 50+ SKI CAMP 

Celebrate your passion for skiing with Legends, a camp designed exclusively for skiers 50 and older. From beginner to expert, you’ll join like-minded winter enthusiasts in an inclusive, supportive environment. 

Led by specialized instructors, this camp focuses on aligning modern equipment with efficient movement patterns to help you ski with confidence, control, and joy. Explore GTR’s incredible terrain at a comfortable pace while building the skills and confidence to keep you on snow for many happy, healthy years to come. 

  • ABILITY LEVELS: Beginner to Advanced
  • FORMAT: Four sessions, 3 hours each
  • DATES:
    • Session 1: Thursday mornings (aside from 1st day) 9-12pm, 11/26 (Wednesday), 12/4, 12/11 & 12/18
    • Session 2: Friday mornings 9-12pm, 3/27, 4/3, 4/10 & 4/17
  • RATIO: 5 guests per instructor for focused coaching
  • COST: $599

HOW TO BOOK

Before you start the booking process online or through our reservations team at 307-353-2300 x1, please gather the following information for each guest:

CHECK-IN

Please check in at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the lesson at the Group Lessons Meeting Area next to the Climbing Wall. Our staff and instructors will meet you there to complete the check-in process and lesson meet and greet. Please sign our Winter Liability Waiver in advance. Skiers and snowboarders must be dressed, geared up and ready to start the lesson. All students must have lift ticket or season pass ready.  

(Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to sign a release form if it has not already been completed online.)  

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations made at least 72 hours in advance will be charged a $25 processing fee per lesson. Cancellations made within 72 hours of service date, or no shows will forfeit the total cost of the lesson.  Every effort will be made to reschedule individual lessons with 72-hour advance notice, change is subject to availability. An additional fee may apply for lesson changes. 

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION

Individual lesson cancellations made within the non-refundable period due to injuries or sickness will be taken into consideration for a pro-rated refund. Medical documentation, signed by a physician, must be emailed to snowsportsschool@grandtarghee.com.

No-showed lessons are excluded from this special consideration. If your child will not be attending a lesson, please contact the Mountain Sports School prior to lesson start time at 307-353-2300 x1358 and leave a voicemail if we are unable to take your call or email snowsportsschool@grandtarghee.com.

ABILITY LEVEL

LEVEL 1: Never Ever   

I've never skied or snowboarded, but I'm excited to learn! 

LEVEL 2: Beginner +  

Alpine/Tele: I've skied before and know the basics like sliding, slightly changing directions and coming to a stop.   

Snowboard: I've snowboarded before. I feel pretty good at sliding, doing the falling leaf and knowing basics like using body movements to go from toe side to heel side, can stop and fall safely.  

LEVEL 3: NOVICE 

Alpine/Tele: I'm gaining confidence in my abilities and can link my turns together smoothly. I'm comfortable on a chairlift, can ski various sized turns on green terrain and can maintain consistent speeds.  

Snowboard: I'm gaining confidence in my abilities and can smoothly link my turns on green terrain while controlling my speed through my turns. I'm comfortable on a chairlift and able to traverse a catwalk on one edge.  

LEVEL 4: INTERMEDIATE 

Alpine/Tele: I'm consistently skiing mostly parallel turns and maintaining consistent speed on blue terrain. I also know how and when to use my poles. I'm ready to explore areas of the mountain and feel ready to ski off trail.  

 Snowboard: I'm consistently using body movements to control my turns while maintaining consistent speed on blue terrain. I can easily change from my toe edge to heel edge with slight movements while traversing. I'm ready to explore more areas of the mountain and feel ready to snowboard off trail.  

 LEVEL 5: ADVANCED/EXPERT  

Alpine/Tele: I'm very confident on my equipment in any situation on the mountain. I ski parallel turns and can keep the same speed the entire time. I know how to navigate groomed and un-groomed trails. I am working to finesse my skiing abilities in various types of terrain and snow conditions.  

Snowboard: I'm very confident on my equipment in any situation on the mountain. I know how to been all the fundamentals of snowboarding as needed and can keep the same
