Conditions Update

July 2nd, 2026

The trails across the resort are riding well. All of our XC trails are open and most of our donwhill trials are opening up. We are expecting warm and dry weather over the coming weeks, so we anticipate more amazing riding across the resort! 

WEEKEND TRAIL CLOSURE UPDATE: 

Targhee is hosting our annual Wildflower Run this weekend. The following trails will be closed while racers are on the course (until approximately 1pm or later). Please note that no Downhill MTB trails will be affected. 

SATURDAY 7/4 - 50k

  • Bannock Trail - CLOSED
  • Ricks Basin XC Trails - CLOSED
  • South Pod Trails ( Action Jackson, Andys, etc.) CLOSED
  • Mill Creek - CLOSED at Resort Boundary

SUNDAY 7/5 - 1k (kids),10k, 22k 

  • Mill Creek - Closed at Resort Boundary
  • South Pod Trails ( Action Jackson, Andys, Rocky Mountain Way etc.) CLOSED
  • Note: Ricks Basin and Bannock will be open. 

Winter Season Reporting Sources

The Grand Targhee Resort Huckleberry Conveyor, Dreamcatcher and Shoshone lifts operate from 9:00am-4:00pm. The Sacajawea lift operates from 9:00am-3:45pm. The Colter and Blackfoot lifts operate from 9:00am-3:30pm.

24 hour totals are updated every morning at 7:00am. Additional accumulations between 7:00am and lift opening can be found by viewing the hourly data from the sources above. All snow accumulated after 7:00 am is included in the next day's 24 hour snowfall total.

Physical measurements are recorded during the day with season totals adjusted accordingly. The Stick of Truth webcam is cleared off every day at 9:00am. Check in on the Stick of Truth to get an idea of how much snow has fallen since the lifts started.

WARNING: CORNICES MAY BE PRESENT along ridgelines near our high alpine hiking trails.  Take care to avoid walking on snow that could be overhanging.
