Announcements

4/10/2022 6:00 am: Howdy and Good Morning Teton Valley! Well, this is it. Closing Day.

Today is a day to leave it all out there. 5" of new snow will send us off properly and we are forecast for as much as 4" through the day. Winds are at 8-10 mph up top with some temperatures that will feel very cold this late in the season: 6 degrees at the summit and 13 at the base. In classic Targhee fashion, it is also quite foggy. (UPDATE 8 AM: Would you just look at that. The sun has unexpectedly joined us as blue skies are visible to the west. It's going to be a phenomenal day up here!)

Even though the conditions should be very rad for Closing Day, today is all about the celebration. Another season past, another set of memories and experiences in the bank. From olympians to weekend warriors to first time skiers, we all contribute to the shared experiences that make Grand Targhee's magic, and that is something that needs to be savored for as long as we can... Summer is long enough! Please do join us at 1:00 pm in the plaza for a visit from Wyoming Governor Gordon, who will be celebrating the accomplishments of one Jaelin Kauf. It will be a special moment that you don't want to miss.

Not only do we extend a deep appreciation to those that have made it out to the 'ghee this year, but are highly anticipating seeing you all again next year. Things will look different as we close the book on our Cat Ski operation, which will be dearly missed, for the new and exciting change that the new Colter chairlift will bring. Bike season and summer is right around the corner as well, which is an always enjoyable time to be at GTR. We're looking forward to some great hikes, stunning views, and fast trails. We can't wait for it!

Lastly, I would like to share that it has been an honor to do the snow report for you all this year. It's not easy dragging myself out of bed at 4 am week in and week out, but seeing your stoke is a special feeling for me that makes it worth it. I really appreciate all the kind words we've shared over the winter. Thanks for a great season!!!
