Grand Targhee Resort’s Holiday Celebration kicks off on Saturday, December 21, 2019. We will be welcoming two festive weeks full of family fun, fireside gatherings, snowshoe tours, and much more. Whether you are a local or are staying slopeside with us, we encourage you to join in on the celebration with your friends and family! We’ve compiled a list of all the events with details regarding each, so check out the information below to ensure you don’t miss any of the action!

In addition to these festive events, there will be live music at the Trap Bar and Grill, and daily fires in the plaza with s’ mores throughout the week.

Santa Visits Targhee!

December 21 in the plaza from 11:00am to 2:00pm

Santa is coming to Grand Targhee Resort! This is your chance to let him know what you want for Christmas and to snag a picture with him. Santa Land will be set up on the plaza from 11:00am – 2:00pm.


December 23 & JANUARY 3 (Wild Bill’s South) FROM 4:00PPM TO 5:00PM

Join ambassadors from the Teton Raptor Center as they conduct a live demonstration with resident raptors and birds of prey in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. The demonstration location is in Wild Bill’s South, but will be announced shortly.

Gingerbread and cookie decorating party!

December 23 at kids club from 4:30pm to 6:00pm

Join us at 3:30pm in the plaza to warm up by the fire and enjoy tasty S’ mores. Beginning at 4:30pm Kids Club will be hosting a Gingerbread and Sugar cookie decorating party. Come get those festive juices flowing!

Join us at the trap for live music from Chan Man Band, and enjoy holiday drink specials, ugly sweaters, and more! Ugly Sweater judging will be at 4:30pm. The winner receives a membership in the Trap Bar Mug Club! Santa will be joining in on the fun as well!

Special Christmas Dinner

December 25 at the branding iron grill from 4:00pm to 9:00pm

Celebrate the holiday season at the Branding Iron Grill with a delicious Christmas Dinner served from 4:00pm to 9:00pm on December 25, 2019. Reservations are required.

50th Birthday Party & Torchlight Parade

december 26 at ski school 4:45pm to 8:00pm

Come celebrate Grand Targhee’s 50th Birthday Party with a Torchlight Parade and Fireworks show. Jaelin Kauf will be leading the parade, and participation is limited, so register early. Registration is available throughout the day in the Ski and Snowboard School office. Roadside flares are used, and old clothing is recommended. Must be an intermediate skier, as the parage will be from the top of Fred’s Mountain to the base. Meet at 4:45pm at the Ski School. Parade will start around 5:45pm. Fireworks show immediately to follow.

S’mores & hot chocolate tubing party!

December 28 at the tubing hill from 4:00pm to 7:00pm

Tubing, s’ mores, hot chocolate, and great times are headed your way! Celebrate the holidays with the entire family during an extra-special party at Grand Targhee’s Tubing Park; it’s one you won’t want to miss. Enjoy a thrilling tube ride followed by the convenience of the magic carpet that whisks you back up the hill for your next run! Top off your tubing extravaganza with s’ mores and hot chocolate by the toasty fire from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Make sure to make your reservations with the Activity Center and reserve your tube time.

Apres & paint with teri mclaren from local galleria

December 29 in Rendezvous lodge North from 6:00pm to 8:00pm

Join us for an evening of fun with art and wine! Teri McLaren from Local Galleria of Driggs will be leading a demonstration and instructional acrylic painting course in Rendezvous Lodge North. All the art supplies plus a pre-drawn canvas will be included to create a beautiful scene of the Tetons. The price also includes two glasses of wine, as well as a charcuterie board.


December 31st at ski school from 4:00pm to 8:00pm

Come watch or participate in the annual Torchlight Parade. The Kid’s Glowstick Parade is perfect for kids between 5 and 14 who possess basic turning and stopping skills. Participation is limited so register early. Kids meet time is 4:00pm at Ski & Snowboard School, and their parade is at 4:30pm. Registration is throughout the day at Ski School for the Torchlight Parade. Adult’s Torchlight parade is open to skiers and riders 12 and up and space is limited. Roadside flares are used and old clothing is recommended. Meet at 4:45pm at the Ski School. Parade starts about 5:45pm. Fireworks show immediately to follow.


December 31st at the Branding iron grill from 5:00pm to 9:00pm

Ring in the New Year at Branding Iron Grill with a savory four course meal. Reservations are required!


December 3 at the Trap from 10:00pm to 2:00am

Join us for the New Years Eve Party at the Trap Bar featuring local band, the Bush Pilots. Doors Open: 8:00pm and the show starts at 9:00pm. Admission is $10.00.

This show will sell out! Tickets are available for purchase at the Trap Bar. Included is a midnight champagne toast, party hats, and so much more!  There will be a FREE Shuttle after 9:00pm with the last Shuttle to Driggs at 2:15am.
