Grand Targhee Nature Center

Visit the Nature Center for trail information and details on what’s blooming and what critters have recently been seen around the resort. Located in the base area, you can find a wide variety of interpretive displays on wildlife, wildflowers, trees, birds and other topics that relate to the ecosystem of Grand Targhee Resort.

Guided Hikes

Enjoy a scenic lift ride up the mountain and explore the area with a guide on our hiking trails. Our guides carry bear spray and are educated in wildlife awareness while you explore the great outdoors.


Bannock Hike: 9:30am – 12:30pm

Offered M/W/F & Weekends

Enjoy a scenic lift ride up the mountain to start the tour. After exploring the summit trails, you will hike down the 3.2 mile Bannock Trail with a Resort Naturalist. Learn about the local flora and fauna and the greater Yellowstone ecosystem. The hike total is about 4 miles and we’ll be out 2.5-3 hours. Although most of the hike will be downhill, experience hiking on rocky terrain required.


Blooms and Birds Hike: 9:30-11:30am.

Offered Tuesdays & Thursdays

Enjoy a 2 hour guided hike near the base area with a Resort Naturalist to learn about the blooming wildflowers and local birds. Recent wildflower blooming and trail status will determine the route, and the length of the hike will be approximately 2 miles.


Private Hikes

The maximum length of 3 hours and 10 guests. The hike will be catered to group wants and capabilities.
